Gwynn family sues tobacco industry over his death

The family of Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against tobacco companies, saying Gwynn was urged to use the smokeless tobacco that eventually led to the cancer that killed him.
The suit was filed by Gwynn’s son Tony Gwynn Jr., widow Alicia Gwynn, and daughter Anisha Gwynn-Jones in Superior Court in San Diego against Altria Group Inc., formerly Philip Morris, and several other defendants.
