ITA Collegiate Tennis Men’s Team Rankings – May 25 2016: NCAA champions Virginia finishes the season atop!

Following their great run at 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Championship, Virginia Cavaliers will finish the season as the best-ranked school in the States, with an impressive 30-4 score. One of those defeats came in ITA National Men’s Team Indoor Championship in February, when North Carolina stunned them in the final, ending the Cavaliers’ streak of 140 consecutive wins over the opponents from the Atlantic Coast Conference. After that championship, North Carolina has gained the lead in the rankings but Virginia soon got it back and bring it safely home following their 3rd NCAA title in the last 4 seasons. UCLA had a very good season as well, finishing at number 2 after 25-3 score. They were 15th at the end of last season, which is a good sign of their improvement in 2016. The Bruins have reached the semi-final of ITA Division I National Men’s Team Indoor Championship in February, they won the Pac-12 Championship and made the last 8 at NCAA Division I Men’s Championship where they lost 4-3 to Oklahoma. TCU Horned Frogs started the new season from 4th place and they’ve managed to keep that pace in 2016 as well, ending this year as a 3rd best school in the country with a 26-4 score. …
