Germany vs. Slovakia: Score, Reaction from 2016 International Friendly
- Updated: May 29, 2016
Slovakia stunned Germany with a 3-1 comeback victory on Sunday as Marek Hamsik, Michal Duris and Juraj Kucka scored to give the travelling team a morale-boosting friendly win in their preparations for Euro 2016.
The reigning world champions took the lead in the 13th minute thanks to a Mario Gomez penalty, but Slovakia scored twice just prior to the break before pulling further ahead in the second period following rain delays at Augsburg’s WWK Arena.

Gomez stepped up to convert the 13th-minute spot-kick and stake his claim on a prominent place in Low’s Euro 2016 plans after extending his sterling run of form lately, per WhoScored.com:

Slovakia’s chances were limited in the opening 30 minutes, and although Germany saw the better opportunities, there was nothing to show for it in terms of incision.
Slovakia made Die Mannschaft pay for their complacency five minutes prior to half-time when Hamsik arrowed a fierce effort into Manuel Neuer’s top-right corner. Even Germany were forced to sit back and admire the long-range missile:
Crikey. That’s a goal. Marek #Hamsik levels the scores for Slovakia with their first chance of the …
