Anibal gets the call to start on Tuesday

OAKLAND — Right-hander Anibal Sanchez is scheduled to start on Tuesday in Anaheim while the team awaits word on Jordan Zimmermann’s recovery from a groin injury.
Detroit had been hopeful that Zimmermann would make the start and didn’t announce Sanchez as the starter until Sunday morning, a few hours before Zimmermann was scheduled to throw a bullpen session.
How Zimmermann comes out of that will determine what the Tigers do next with him.
Detroit has not announced its pitching plans for Wednesday, though manager Brad Ausmus indicated that rookie right-hander Michael Fulmer could get the call. …
