England players will be given greater confidence on the pitch under Sam Allardyce, says his former assistant manager Neil McDonald.
Allardyce’s appointment as England boss is close to being agreed, but has not been confirmed despite a lengthy FA board meeting on Thursday and a compensation deal with Sunderland set to be finalised.
