Eovaldi to undergo further tests on elbow

BOSTON — Yankees right-hander Nathan Eovaldi will seek a second opinion on his right elbow after he was seen Thursday by team physician Dr. Christopher Ahmad.
Eovaldi was evaluated and received a dye contrast MRI in New York after exiting Wednesday’s game in Boston after just one inning with right elbow discomfort.
The team did not reveal the results of the visit.
“Until that [second] consultation takes place, no further information will be provided,” the Yankees said in a statement.
Eovaldi made quick work of the Red Sox in the bottom of the first inning of Wednesday night’s 9-4 win at Fenway Park, using just 12 pitches to retire the side in order. But Eovaldi would not return to action the following inning.
