Chelsea vs. Burnley: Score and Reaction from 2016 Premier League Match

Chelsea went top of the Premier League after beating Burnley 3-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. Eden Hazard and Willian were on the scoresheet in the first half to cap a fantastic display of attacking football from the Blues.

Chances kept coming for manager Antonio Conte’s side after the break. However, it took until a minute from time for substitute Victor Moses to net the third.

Conte again picked a starting XI that didn’t feature classy playmaker Cesc Fabregas, per the club:

Meanwhile, Burnley boss Sean Dyche boldly kept faith with a two-up-top approach that featured Liverpool conquerors Sam Vokes and Andre Gray:

It was a brave approach for such a difficult away fixture, and one Dyche may have been ruing when the hosts took the lead inside the first five minutes. Even without Fabregas, Chelsea’s passing was slick early on, and it was Nemanja Matic who released Hazard with a well-timed ball.
