Tyler Beede needed just 94 pitches, 70 strikes, to spin his first shutout.

The Giants’ No. 2 prospect led Double-A Richmond to a 4-0 win over Hartford on Monday, notching his first double-digit strikeout game of the season along the way.

Beede tied his career-high with 11 strikeouts, walked one and gave up two hits.

Beede tossed eight scoreless frames on June 2, but hadn’t pitched into the ninth until Monday. However, the 23-year-old right-hander handled the final frame with ease.

After giving up a single to lead off the frame, Beede struck out a pair and induced a ground-ball out to finish off the win and move to 7-7 with a 2.87 ERA through 23 starts.

The rest of the best performances from top prospects Monday:

• No. 35 overall prospect Cody Bellinger (Dodgers’ No. 1) had quite the day offensively. Bellinger was a perfect 4-for-4, hit two homers for the second time this season and drove in a career-high six runs.

• No. 52 overall prospect Nick Gordon (Twins’ No. 2) was on base all night for Class A Advanced Fort Myers. The 20-year-old shortstop notched his first-career five-hit game (5-for-5), bumped his average up to .296 and scored a pair of runs.

“The last several games before this one have been rough for me, you know, but I was just grinding through it,” Gordon told MiLB.com. “I was talking to my dad, and I was worried about getting ahead [in counts]. He always knows what to say, and he told me, ‘Have …
